The biggest workshop for film producers in Europe took place between 19 – 26 June 2017 in Łódź. On the Polish side, the event was co-organised by the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce and EC1 Łódź – the City of Culture. The event is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the City of Łódź.
EAVE Producers Workshop is the biggest workshop for audiovisual producers in Europe. Each year, this annual training programme gathers 50 selected producers from all around the world, who during three weekly sessions held in three different European cities work on perfecting their professional skills. One of this year’s meetings was held in Łódź, owing to the commitment of local partners: the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce, EC1 Łódź – the City of Culture, the Transatlantyk Festival, Łódź-based film producers, and thanks to co-financing provided by the Polish Film Institute and the City of Lodz.
The organisers of EAVE Producers Workshop prepared an original programme addressed solely to Polish producers. On Friday, June 23rd, Polish professionals from the film industry were able to attend a series of open lectures devoted to such aspects as public pitching, working with a literary consultant, challenges awaiting international film co-productions and challenges related to the Digital Single Market. The lecturers were EAVE experts: Linda Beath, Sybille Kurtz, Jacques Akchoti and Jani Thilges. The meeting ended with a session titled “Producing in and with Poland”, which was attended by all producers present at the workshop.
